10 cars that said goodbye to India.
India had always been a huge market to automobile manufacturers, but still few automakers had to leave india due to their poor sales and some had to discontinue some of their models for to the transition from BS4 to BS6 emission norms. Here is the list of some cars that left the Indian market.
Ford figo
Toyota Yaris
Toyota has already discontinued their sedan, the Toyota Yaris from the Indian market and the new version will not be released in India instead they will be releasing belta, the Rebadged version of ciaz for the Indian markert.
Ford figo aspire
Ford figo aspire is the sedan version of Ford Figo. It competed with sub 4 metre compact sedans like desire, aura ect. It also came with both engine options,petrol and diesel.
Ford Ecosport
One of the first sub-4 metre compact SUV's which also made the segment popular in India. It came with great quality and it also had a unique styling in this segment with the spare wheel outside the boot. It was the top selling car of Ford India. They were working on a new model of it but then ford left India.
Ford Endeavour
Endeavour was the only SUV in the Indian market that was capable of competing with India's favourite SUV, the Toyota fortuner.
Endeavour was like on sales but it actually was a great car with a lot of goodies. Ford had also launched the latest version of the ford Endeavour which came with a 10 speed automatic torque converter.
Xuv 500
XUV 500 was discontinued when the all new XUV 700 was launched in India. It was a great car which introduced many first in class features in a budget. Mahindra could probably bring the XUV 500 name tag in a new car which competed with cars Like creta and seltos.
Honda civic
Honda civic has always been a driver's delight from the early generations itself mainly because of its engine. But
the civic totally flopped in the Indian market maily because Indians preferred SUV's at this price point. So the civic is officially discontinued now in India.
Honda CR-V
Honda CRV has never been able to do anything in the Indian SUV market from the beginning itself. Especially because it had
powerful rivals. Honda discontinued it last year.
Grand i10
Hyundai discontinued the grand i10 from their lineup very silently. They replaced this hatchback with the grand i10 nios. They have made drastic changes from the old grand i10 .
